Fill up for a good cause, and get a chance to win a 42-inch TV, with the Albert Lea boys’ varsity hockey team Friday night.

The boys’ hockey team/Blue Line Club fundraiser will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Leo Carey American Legion Post 56 in Albert Lea.

The cost is $8 for your choice of a burger basket, chicken strip basket or pulled pork sandwich basket.

According to Guy Holland, proceeds from meal will help pay expenses for the high school hockey team, including upgrading to coach busses with online service so the team members can do their homework on long bus trips.

But don’t show up at the American Legion empty-handed or you’ll miss out on your chance to win a 42-inch TV. Here’s how it works: Bring one non-perishable food item to the event and receive one ticket for the TV giveaway.

“It doesn’t matter if you bring in one item or 10,000 items, you will get a ticket for each item you bring,” said Holland.

Those who drop off food items will also receive a free beverage with their food basket.

The drawing for the TV giveaway will be at 10 p.m. at the American Legion.

All food items collected will be split between the Red Cross Food Shelf and the Presbyterian Food Shelf.
