More snow on the way

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Albert Lea from noon today until 6 a.m. Thursday.

Light snow will begin in the western part of the state, moving east across east central and south central Minnesota and into Wisconsin.

The majority of snow is expected to fall late this afternoon and early Thursday morning, with totals of 3 to 5 inches expected.

Visibilities could fall less than one mile during periods of intense snowfall.

Travel will be difficult at times as road conditions worsen due to snow covered roads and lowered visibilities.

Drivers are also cautioned as the timing could have an impact on the commute home this afternoon.

Mower and Blue Earth counties, along with Worth, Winnebago and Cerro Gordo counties in north Iowa, are also under the winter weather advisory.
