Here are highlights in history for Dec. 2, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1990 — Mothers Against Drunk Driving of Freeborn County (MADD) was distributing 9,000 red ribbons as part of their campaign to encourage people not to drink and then drive vehicles.
1980 — The senior class at Freeborn High School presented the play, “Beverly Hillbillies.” This play’s characters were based on a then very popular television program.
1930 — Bailey-Reynolds Electric Co. of Albert Lea was selling the General Electric Lowboy cabinet radio for $142.50, less tubes, on a budget payment plan.
