Here are highlights in history for Dec. 23, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:

1992 — Boone Newspapers of Tuscaloosa, Ala., purchased the Albert Lea Tribune and Austin Herald. As a result, Robert W. Brincefield was the new Tribune publisher.

1982 — Two full pages of the Tribune featured ads based on Moonlight Madness at the Skyline Mall from 6 to 10 p.m.

1962 — The senior class of Albert Lea High School held their Christmas breakfast at Bethany Hall of First Lutheran Church.
