A person was reportedly robbed inside a business in downtown Albert Lea Thursday afternoon.
According to police, a checkbook, cash and credit cards were taken from the owner of Adams Originals, 238 S. Broadway Ave., just after 12:30 p.m.
Police were told that three young men entered the store and forcibly took the items. Then they reportedly fled on foot.
Based on the three suspects’ descriptions, officers familiar with the possible suspects began to investigate a residence in the 800 block of Water Street, according to a news release. Upon the initial officer’s arrival, people fled into the house.
Police arrested three Albert Lea men — ages 18, 19 and 20 — and one man was positively identified by the victim.
Police have not released the names pending formal charges.
The three are expected to be formally charged with simple robbery and aiding and abetting simple robbery on Monday, according to the release.
The checkbook was found hidden in a vehicle near the residence.
The victim was not injured in the incident.
