The Albert Lea girls’ hockey team lost Saturday for just the second time in exactly a month, falling to the Red Wing Wingers 2-1 in overtime.

The Tigers (6-5, 5-2 Big Nine) and Wingers (4-5-1, 0-3-1 Missota) held each other scoreless for the first two periods before Nicole Schammel put the Wingers on the board 13 minutes into the third period.

The Tigers’ Anna Anderson answered just over a minute later to tie the game at 1-1 and force overtime.

The Wingers’ Annie Gorman notched a goal just under two minutes into the overtime period to give Red Wing a 2-1 win.

The Tigers play again Monday, Dec. 27 at a tournament in Austin.
