A number of weekend sporting events were postponed or cancelled Friday after the National Weather Service predicted Albert Lea could receive up to seven inches of snow Saturday with wind gusts up to 41 miles per hour.

Saturday’s wrestling match originally scheduled for 10 a.m. between Albert Lea and Kasson-Mantorville was canceled along with an Albert Lea dance team competition.

The Albert Lea boys’ hockey game originally scheduled for 8 p.m. Saturday against Rochester Mayo at City Arena was postponed and rescheduled for 8 p.m. on Jan. 29, 2011 at City Arena.

The Albert Lea boys’ basketball game originally scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Rochester Mayo was postponed and rescheduled for 7:30 p.m. Feb. 1, 2011 at Rochester Mayo.
