Dean Robert Syverson, 59, of Lawrence, Kan., formerly of Lake Mills, Iowa, died Dec. 23, 2010, at his home. Arrangements are pending at Mittelstadt Funeral Home, 902 E. Main St., Lake Mills, Iowa.

Mary Jane Raimann

Mary Jane Raimann, 76, of Mapleton, formerly of Minnesota Lake, died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2011, at Immanuel St. Joseph Hospital in Mankato. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church in Mapleton. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells is assisting with arrangements.

Merlin Carlsgaard

Merlin Carlsgaard, 82, of rural Myrtle, died Monday, Jan. 3, 2011, at the Hospice of North Iowa. Funeral arrangements are pending at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home.
