Funeral services for Dora Ella Hayes, 90, of Albert Lea will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Tom Biatek and Rev. Jeff Laeger-Hagemeister will officiate. Dora died Friday, Jan. 21, 2011, at Albert Lea Medical Center.
Dora Ella Hayes was born on Nov. 1, 1920, to Karl and Martha (Brehmer) Zeimann in Eyota. She grew up and attended school in the Eyota area. On Aug. 29, 1939, she was united in marriage to Alfred Hayes in Rochester. Dora lived in the metro area for many years and was employed at Silver Burditt until her retirement. She had been an Albert Lea resident for the past 29 years. Dora was a member of the United Methodist Church in Albert Lea. She was a wonderful cook and also enjoyed quilting. Dora was dearly loved by her family and will be missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her daughters: Beverly (Laverne) Ziebell of Bena and Hazel (Clayton) Trandem of Albert Lea; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.
Dora was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alfred in 1973; granddaughter, Joan Ziebell; great-grandson, Anthony Ziebell; five sisters; four brothers; and sisters-in-law, Gladys Zeimann and Marie Zeimann.
