Kyle Ooms scored 26 points and 15 rebounds for Albert Lea, but it wasn’t enough as the Faribault Falcons boys’ basketball team defeated the Albert Lea Tigers 70-67 on Friday in Albert Lea.

Along with Ooms, Tyler Wichmann also had a double double with 13 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists.

Alik Smed recorded 11 points for Albert Lea.

“Extremely hard fought game by both teams,” Albert Lea coach Lucas Kreuscher said. “Have to give them credit, they have some good players. Michael Emge is really hard to guard.”

After a hard fought first half, the Tigers found themselves down by seven heading into half-time.

“We should have gotten a few more stops in the first half,” Kreuscher said.

The Tigers are off until next Tuesday when they travel to Rochester to face the John Marshall Rockets.
