Here are highlights in history for Jan. 5, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1987 — One of the entertainment options in the city was at the Albert Lea Inn on East Main Street with the Cabaret Dinner Theater.
1977 — A Tribune ad for Cardinal Food Stores listed Sibilrud’s Grocery of Hartland, Helland’s Superette of Alden, Nick’s Grocery of Hayward and Anderson’s Grocery of Freeborn as their area affiliates.
1967 — The Albert Lea City Council declined to take action to rename Lee Avenue, East Pearl Street and Frank Avenue.
