Here are highlights in history for Jan. 16, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1990 — The Albert Lea Community Theater would be presenting the play, “Cinderella.” This production was directed by Betty Loper.
1980 — A state survey said the average daily traffic on Interstate 35 past Albert Lea was 8,700 vehicles, or about 3,175,500 vehicles a year.
1970 — James Skaar of rural Hayward was awarded the Outstanding Young Farmer title by the Albert Lea Jaycees.
