Here are highlights in history for Jan. 23, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1990 — This issue of the Tribune featured two syndicated advice experts — “Dear Abby” (Abigail Van Buren) and “Hints From Helloise.”
1980 — School District 241 was considering a plan to have grades seven and eight in one junior high school building, grades nine and 10 in another junior high school building, and grades 11 and 12 at the senior high school.
1970 — Julie Ann Benson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Benson of Clarks Grove, was selected as Albert Lea High School’s Homemaker of Tomorrow.
