Here are highlights in history for Jan. 27, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:

1984 — The Albert Lea Planning Commission approved the name of Regency Lane for a new street in the southwest corner of the city. (The city council later also approved the use of this name.)

1974 — John P. Farry, former board chairman of Albert Lea’s First Federal Savings & Loan Association, was elected to the board of the Minnesota Association of Commerce.

1944 — Moulton Food Store on West Clark Street was selling a dozen fancy California Sunkist navel oranges for 23 cents.
