The Minnesota State Patrol is advising against travel on several roads throughout Freeborn County and south central Minnesota this afternoon.
Heavy snow, limited visibilities and freezing rain followed by snow has made roads slick and driving hazardous. Travel is not advised on Highways 65 or 69, along Interstate 35 between the Iowa state line and Exit 76 near Elko New Market, and along Interstate 90 between Alden and Dexter.
A half-hour traffic delay was reported in the northbound lanes of Interstate 35, just north of Albert Lea around 3 p.m.
Slick roads and cars in the ditch along I-35 north of Albert Lea, near New Richland Exit 26, were causing about a 35-minute traffic delay this afternoon. Traffic was moving along fine in the southbound lane of I-35.
Four cars were reported in the ditch in that area, with other cars in ditches reported along the interstate.
