The news in your local newspaper isn’t always good. But on Sunday, take one look at the Albert Lea Tribune and you will notice a drastic difference – every story from cover to cover is about inspirational, local heroes in the 80-page special section Progress 2011: Everyday Heroes. Spend some time with it and enjoy.
From people who inspire, like former Albert Lea Thunder hockey player Adam Royce, who stood up for what he believed in, to pastors who went above and beyond after tornadoes left a path of destruction near Albert Lea this summer. From a couple in Albert Lea who spend their free time giving rides to seniors, to everyday heroes like local plumbers, electrical workers and sanitation workers. And stories like the one of Albert Lea High School choir director Diane Heaney, who inspires ALHS students while battling cancer. The list could and does go on for awhile. Read about these local heroes and others in the surrounding communities, such as New Richland, Clarks Grove, Hartland, Conger, Alden, Wells, and Lake Mills, Iowa.
Progress 2011: Everyday Heroes is about showcasing your community and what makes it a special place to live. It’s about the people who give their time, effort and love to the things they are passionate about. Pick up the Tribune on Sunday and be inspired.
