Wind chill advisory issued for Freeborn County

Don’t let the clear, sunny skies fool you over the next couple of days, as temperatures and wind chills are expected to plunge below zero on the mercury.
A wind chill advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service for Freeborn and surrounding counties from midnight Monday until noon Tuesday. With a low of 15 degrees below zero expected Monday night, northwest winds between 8 and 13 mph will take wind chills as low as 20 to 30 degrees below zero.
On Tuesday, the predicted high is 1 degree below zero, with wind chills dipping as low as 32 degrees below zero. Winds are expected to blow in from the northwest around 10 mph. A low of 10 degrees below zero on Tuesday night will make the air outside feel more like 20 degrees below zero.
Temperatures are expected to climb slightly on Wednesday, with the high reaching 3 degrees above zero, but wind chills remaining in the 20 to 30 degree below zero range. On Thursday, the expected high is 9 degrees.
A warm front is expected to move in by the weekend, as the National Weather Service predicts temperatures to climb into the double digits above zero by the weekend, with a high of 25 degrees on Friday, 32 degrees on Saturday and 37 degrees on Sunday.
