Man charged with slashing his father

A 22-year-old Albert Lea man was charged in Freeborn County with allegedly slashing his father multiple times with a box cutter during a reported fight a week ago.
Luis Ricardo Chamizo-Ofarrill faces felony charges of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and terroristic threats after the reported incident at 4:16 p.m. Feb. 11 in apartment 204 of 133 William St., according to police.
Albert Lea police Lt. Jeff Strom said the man’s 45-year-old father, also of Albert Lea, had numerous small cuts on his torso and left arm.
The wounds were not serious.
The two men reportedly got into the fight over a PlayStation, Strom said.
Two arrested for drunken driving
Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Travis James Hall for third-degree driving while intoxicated and child endangerment after Hall’s vehicle reportedly went into the ditch at 10:51 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of Freeborn County Road 45 and 245th Street, according to reports.
Police arrested Cody Andrew Langan, 22, for felony fleeing, second-degree test refusal, second-degree driving while intoxicated and open bottle violations after a traffic stop at the intersection of Columbus Avenue and East Main Street at 10:23 p.m. Thursday, reports stated.
Tires punctured
Tires were reported punctured on two vehicles at 1:39 p.m. Thursday at 205 Fenton Ave., according to reports.
