Here are highlights in history for Feb. 7, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:

1957 — Albert Lea’s Business and Professional Women’s Club would name their Young Career Women of the Year on Feb. 11.

1977 — The Williams Pipeline Co., of Tulsa, Okla., was proposing to divert an eight-mile portion of its system around the west side of Albert Lea as part of an expansion project.

1917 — This issue of the Tribune featured Chapter VII of the novel, “The Gods of Mars,” by Edgar Rice Burroughs.
