1984 — The Wheel and Lantern was the name of the restaurant at the Albert Lea Best Western Inn, 2301 E. Main St.

1974 — Paul Giel, athletic director at the University of Minnesota, was the guest speaker at a banquet held at Albert Lea’s Kahler Inn. He showed a color film of the 1973 Gopher football highlights.

1964 — Neal Skaar and Shirley Hove were crowned King and Queen of Hearts at the Albert Lea High School Heart Dance.
