1989 — This issue of the Tribune had the obituary for Russell L. Sorenson who died several days earlier. He was a contractor and his firm constructed many local buildings.

1979 — The 34th annual Tigers Roar would be held at the Albert Lea High School Auditorium. This event featured a variety of student talent.

1949 — A group of 20 Albert Lea Township residents met to discuss ways to provide fire protection for rural areas.
