St. John’s Auxiliary

St. John’s Auxiliary met at 2 p.m. Jan. 17 in St. John’s Chapel. President Carol Rask welcomed everyone. Devotions were given by the Rev. Jeff Laeger-Hagemeister. The group sang “God Bless our Native Land.”
Auxiliary Secretary Bonnie Schneider read the minutes of the December meeting. Treasurer Lorraine Schaper gave the treasurer’s report. Reports were approved. The audit committee reported that they found the books in order.
Volunteer coordinator Caria Reichel reported that 729 hours were reported for December.
Day Care had 30 hours, one You & Me Club, three Sing Alongs and one ventriloquist.
Diane Wichmann reported that events for February will be Mr. and Mrs. Orwilt Goskeson, Richard Vee at the HazzleDazzle Parade and Carnival, February Super Bowl Party, David Hudson (guitarist). The Young and Oldies (12 ladies from Austin), Singing Valentines Valentine’s Party, and attending school sport activities.
Vice President Caroline Sorenson read the names of residents celebrating January birthdays: Donna Horgan, Audrey Nelson, Robert Schreiber, Evelyn Tiede, Bernard Johnsrud, Alice Schmuck, Janet Heilman, Victor Waterman and Warren Tuttle.
First Lutheran Church was thanked for serving Sunday coffee for all Sundays in January.
The program was singing by the attendees the following songs: “In the Garden,” “America the Beautiful” and “Amazing Grace.”
Refreshments of special chocolate-cherry bars were provided by 2nd South and St. John’s Dietary Department.
