David Spooner, 67, Minneapolis

The memorial service for David “Huey” Joseph Spooner of Minneapolis, formerly of the Albert Lea area, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cross of Glory Lutheran Church, Hartland. The Rev. Dennis Frank will officiate. Interment will be at a later date. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Memorials in lieu of flowers are preferred to the family to help with expenses.
David died Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis. He was 67 years old.
David was born Jan. 1, 1944, in Albert Lea to Joseph and Ida (Seberson) Spooner. He was a member of Cross of Glory Lutheran Church, Hartland. David worked as an automobile mechanic.
He was a member of the Eagles Club. David enjoyed camping, the outdoors in the summertime, attending car and tractor shows and enjoyed being a prankster. David loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. David especially was proud of his sobriety for 33 years.
David is survived by three children: LeAnn Brown and her husband Jim of Garden City; Rodney Spooner of Hartland, and Jason Spooner and his wife Jessica of Winona; grandchildren: Chaz, Brittney, Chloe, Aubry, Taylor, Trevor, Tanner, Joshua and his wife, Christine, Timothy, Joseph, Tony and his wife, Krista, and Serena and her husband, Ray; four great-grandchildren: Gannon, Hayden, Aaron and Connor; brother, Duane Spooner and his wife, Kathy, of Hartland.
David is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Ida Spooner.
