Our gracious Lord called Gloria B. Jensen to her eternal home on Tuesday, March 22, 2011, after a brief struggle with kidney failure. She was 85 years old. She was born on Jan. 28, 1926, in Wells, to Rudolph Quill and Gina (Liabraaten). She spent her youth and early adult life in Albert Lea. She was baptized into God’s family at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, a member of the Norwegian Evangelical Lutheran Synod, in Albert Lea, in February 1926, and was confirmed in the Lutheran church in June 1940.

All her life, her savior Jesus and her church were important to her. She made sure that her children, Barbara and Robert, were made wise for salvation by teaching them at home the truths of God’s word and bringing them to church every Sunday. She served faithfully in various capacities in the churches to which she belonged throughout her life. At her death, she was a member of Risen Savior Lutheran Church, Milwaukee, Wis.

After graduating from high school, she married her high school sweetheart, Robert R. Jensen on May, 26, 1946, in Albert Lea. She worked as a bookkeeper at Thomson Dairy and later at other businesses until her retirement in 1991. She resided in the communities of Albert Lea, Rochester, Duluth and Brainerd. She spent her retirement years in Mesa and Apache Junction, Ariz., until her move to Luther Haven, Milwaukee, Wis., in 2010.

Her husband, Robert, preceded her in death. She is survived by her children: Barbara (Joseph) Dwyer and the Rev. Robert Q. (Elizabeth) Jensen. Grandmother of James Dwyer, Erik, Andrew and Joshua Jensen. Great-grandmother of Garrett and Evan Dwyer. Sister of Jonette (the late Rev. Manfred) Lenz and Glee (the late Robert) Dollum.

A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 25, at Luther Haven Chapel, 8949 N. 97th St., Milwaukee. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at National Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix, Ariz.
