Here are highlights in history for M arch 1, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:

1990 — Albert Lea Masons donated a glucometer to Southwest Junior High School that would be used for testing by diabetic students.

1980 — Albert Lea’s First Northwestern Bank had two locations. One was the main bank at the corner of South Newton Avenue and East Main Street. The second was called the Lincoln Park Office at 605 E, Main St., next to the channel.

1950 — Mrs. Alice Nelson of Clarks Grove was observing her 27th year as a rural mail carrier on the route based on Clarks Grove and Hollandale.
