Here are highlights in history for March 10, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:

1992 — The sculpture exhibit by Paul Rieffer was named as the top winner at the 20th annual Winter Art Show held at the Skyline Mall.

1982 — Freeborn County voters approved the concept to combine the elected offices of auditor and treasurer into one position with an approval rate of 69 percent.

1952 — A deer on the ice of Albert Lea Lake was reportedly killed by two dogs. A day later a group of hunters led by Game Warden Rye were on the lake’s east side and saw two dogs chasing another deer on the ice. Several shots forced the dogs to stop the chase.
