Here are highlights in history for March 17, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:

1988 — Duane and Betty Steele of rural Conger were presented with the Freeborn County Farm Family of the Year Award.

1978 — The Glenville Bar and Lounge Supper Club would be presenting its very first St. Patrick’s Dance. Music would be by the Country Boys.

1948 — The people working at Lueck-Sanders Drug Store observed St. Patrick’s Day. The ladies wore white blouses and green ties and the men wore green neckties.
