ROCHESTER– Kyle Ooms scored 24 points Thursday, but it wasn’t enough as the Rochester Mayo Spartans boys’ basketball team defeated the Albert Lea Tigers 75-60 in Rochester.

Tyler Wichmann also added 10 points for the Tigers.

“We had a good start,” Albert Lea coach Lucas Kreuscher said. “We kept the game at a good pace, then we lost our composure and we really struggled with boxing out and getting rebounds.”

The Tigers trailed by as many as 20 points with four minutes remaining in the game.

Albert Lea would go on a run and trim the lead to nine points with 1:30 seconds left, but thats all the closer the Tigers would get.

Albert Lea is back in action on Friday at 7:30 p.m. as the Tigers take on the Winona Winhawks in Albert Lea.
