Southwest Middle School’s Tiger Trot fundraiser will be at 9 a.m. on April 16. The 5-kilometer walk or run is for students and community members. Southwest students and fifth- and sixth-graders from Albert Lea elementary schools will be asking for pledges starting Friday.

Money raised will go into the student activity account, which is used for bus trips, assemblies and other resources that help meet the students’ needs. Registration is $15 or $5 for eighth-graders and younger before April 6.

The Tiger Trot is run in conjunction with the Fountain Lake 5, sponsored by the Albert Lea Family Y. The route begins at Brookside Education Center, and anyone can participate. More information is available by calling Southwest at 507-379-5240.
