Austin Big Band to perform in Albert Lea

The Austin Big Band will be performing as special guests at the Albert Lea High School jazz show on Friday April 8 at 7 p.m. in the Albert Lea High School commons. Admission is free.
The Albert Lea High School jazz band is under the direction of Peter Gepson. The concert will feature a wide range of big band music from such greats as Count Basie, Duke Ellington and George Gershwin.
The Austin Big Band has been performing throughout the southern Minnesota area for the past 15 years and has most recently performed at the Paramount Theatre. The Austin Big Band is made up of 17 musicians from southern Minnesota and northern Iowa. It plays many big band hits of yesterday and today and can be seen throughout the area on a regular basis. The band is available for private parties, weddings and corporate functions.
