Charter, Fox agree on extra Twins games

Charter Communications and Fox Sports Net have struck an agreement.

The home opener of the Minnesota Twins indeed was televised on FSN over Charter cable television on Friday night. Fans on Tuesday were unable to watch the Twins beat the Yanks 5-4 in 10 innings because of a dispute on how much FSN wanted to charge Charter.

FSN has the rights to show 150 of the Twins 162 games. However, Charter was not going to let FSN show 45 of them.

On Thursday, Charter reached an agreement with FSN for the other 44 games — minus the Tuesday game fans missed.

Last season, those 45 had been broadcast over the airwaves on WFTC channel 29. Now, people have to have cable to see all of the Twins games.

Charter is the primary cable provider for the Albert Lea market.
