High-speed chase enters Freeborn County

Deputies arrested two men early this morning after a high-speed chase that started in Worth County, Iowa, and ended in Freeman Township, a half a mile north of Stateline Road.
According to a Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office news release, David Allan Freeman, 41, of Tama, Iowa, and Travis James Jordan, 28, of Marshalltown, Iowa, are being held in the Freeborn County jail, pending charges.
It is unknown which man was the driver.
The release states the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office reportedly received a call from the Worth County Sheriff’s Office at 11:58 p.m. Thursday that their deputies were in active pursuit of a white Dodge Ram pickup stolen from Iowa.
The chase had started on Wheeler Road in Worth County, and the truck reportedly entered Freeborn County near State Line Road, east of 735th Avenue.
According to the release, the vehicle left the roadway and went into a field a half a mile north of Stateline Road and one mile east of 735th Avenue, where the two men reportedly fled on foot.
Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office deputies, Albert Lea police officers and Iowa authorities responded to the area and set up perimeters.
A Minnesota State Patrol helicopter was also called in to assist.
Officials in the helicopter found the stolen pickup in the middle of the field and also found the two men, who were reportedly hiding in a shed.
Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office detective/supervisor Scott Golbuff said the men were arrested at about 3:30 a.m.
Both men have active felony warrants out of Iowa.
