Medford edges Wolverines 8-7

Leading into the bottom of the sixth inning Tuesday, the Glenville-Emmons Wolverines baseball team gave up two runs and lost a back-and-forth game 8-7 at the Medford Tigers.

Caleb Schumaker came in relief of starter Tyler Woodside in the sixth inning and walked two runs in.

Trent Thoms led the Wolverines (3-1, 3-0 Southeast) offensively, going 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Peter Hansen went 2-for-3 with a double, and Woodside went 1-for-3 with a triple.

The Wolverines play again at 4:30 p.m. Thursday against Lyle/Pacelli (1-0, 1-0) in Glenville.
