Here are highlights in history for April 7, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:

1990 — Albert Lea’s Woman-In-The-Shoe Doll Club would be sponsoring an antique and collectible doll appraisal event at the Freeborn County Historical Museum on April 12.

1980 — A Chicago & Northwestern freight train derailed just south of Glenville. Four grain cars tipped over and three other cars left the tracks.

1970 — The Albert Lea Country Club announced plans for a $100,000 interior remodeling project, plus improvements on the building’s west end.
