Here are highlights in history for April 10, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1986 — A bison skeleton found in the 1960s a mile west of Northwood, Iowa, and believed to be 4 to 5,000 years old, was taken to the Owen Johnson Interpretive Center at Helmer Myre State Park for display.
1976 — James Stoltz would be the new principal at Albert Lea’s Brookside Junior High School on July 1.
1956 — Charles Heilman, a member of the Albert Lea Police Department since 1930, was named as the new chief. He would replace Ole Anderson.
