Here are highlights in history for April 11, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1987 — A musical group called the Captain’s Pirates, consisting of Jim Pilgrim, Randy Johnson and Doug Neste, were performing at Captain’s Quarters, 1119 S. Broadway Ave.
1977 — A short feature on the Tribune’s editorial page had the title of Barbs. One example was, “Untold wealth is what gets a fellow in trouble with the IRS.”
1957 — Donovan’s Elevator on West Front Street advertised it was the “home of Donlea Feeds.” For this time of year their Tribune ads were promoting supplies and food for baby chicks.
