Here are highlights in history for April 15, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:

1991 — A Tribune editorial said “ethanol (is) a boon for entire state.” The editorial also stated that “many of the myths about ethanol have disappeared, and it now appears to be a win-win for everyone.”

1981 — A tour sponsored by the Austin Public Library was based on several church buildings in that city designed by Albert Lea architect LeRoy Gaarder.

1941 — More than 2,000 attended the YMCA’s annual egg rolling contest held at Edgewater Park.
