Here are highlights in history for April 29, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1987 — The last play of the season for the Albert Lea Community Theatre would be “How the Other Half Lives,” starring Joanne Senske and Paul Rhemke.
1977 — Albert Lea’s Advisory Planning Commission approved plans for a 66-unit three-story apartment complex on the north shore of Fountain Lake at the former Lakeshore Greenhouse site. (Note: This proposal never became a reality.)
1957 — The Albert Lea City Council was considering action to extend the tie-up period for local dogs beyond the May 1 to 20 time then in effect.
