Who supports the nonprofits?

I would like to point out for anyone who has not yet realized it that the clothing collection boxes that are appearing around town (Albert Lea) belong to a for-profit company.
I can’t believe that our local retailers would allow these to be on their property encouraging direct competition with recognized charities.
So many people are doing without, and we should be able to expect local retailers to support charities, not compete. Allow me to ask that you consider donating clothing to the Salvation Army, Goodwill, Epilepsy Foundation, Appalachian Foundation, i.e.: a friend or neighbor.
I think this is pathetic. If you agree with this opinion, mention it to store managers or owners and make sure your friends are aware also. Please join me in making it clear to local retailers that if they want the community to support them, they will need to help support the community.
