Cody Haaland threw seven shutout innings Saturday and the Albert Lea Tigers baseball team won in their first non-conference game of the season 3-0 at Waseca.

Haaland struck out six batters and walked none while allowing five hits. Cory Hansen went 1-for-4 with an RBI single in the third inning.

“Haaland pitched very well for us,” Tigers coach Joe Sczublewski. “He mixed up pitches well, and they put the ball in play and we fielded pretty well. There was not a lot of offense on either side.”
