Here are highlights in history for May 6, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1993 — Four members of the Albert Lea High School Concert Choir – Alisa Clark, John Sevcik, Bruce Molskness and Kirsten Shaman – were selected to be a part of the Minnesota All-State Choir.
1983 — Carmen Yocum was presented with the School District Citizen of the Year award. She was honored for her 31 years of teaching and as a volunteer with several church and community groups.
1973 — Roy Nystrom was named to be the new head hockey coach for the Albert Lea High School Tigers. His previous seven-year high school coaching record was 54 wins and 14 losses.
