Here are highlights in history for May 12, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:

1992 — The Albert Lea City Council turned over management of the municipal pool to the Albert Lea Family Y. (Note: The pool has reverted back to city management since that time.)

1982 — Gordon Bickle, president of First Bank Albert Lea, was elected president of Jobs Inc. and the Albert Lea Industrial Development Corp.

1962 — Janice Rosenberg, 19, was crowned Miss Albert Lea. Participating in this event was Judy Olson, 1958 Miss Albert Lea and 1959 Miss Minnesota.
