Rebels sweep Gopher Conference titles

NRHEG finished 3rd in boys, girls

WELLS — The United South Central Rebels boys’ and girls’ golf teams won both Gopher Conference championships Friday at Oakview Golf Course, in Wells.

Rebels senior Sam Gackstetter finished second overall in the boys’ meet with an 84, and eighth-grader Nate Pederson and ninth-grader Seth Olsen finished tied for fourth with 86.

Hayden Feist and Ryan Pederson rounded out the Rebels scoring with 94s.

The Rebels boys scored 350 and beat second-place Blooming Prairie by 13 strokes.

The Rebels girls’ team scored 419 to edge Faribault Bethlehem Academy by seven strokes.

The Rebels were led by medalist Ali Wood, who shot 99, and Claire Christian, whose 103 was good for second place.

Veronica Schindler shot 106, and Erinn Hotzler shot 110 for the Rebels. The team’s non-scorers were Kyley Bullerman (123) and Jenna Stevermer (126).

Rebels place 3rd

The New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva boys’ and girls’ golf teams both finished third Friday in the Gopher Conference meet.

The boys shot 368, five strokes behind second-place Blooming Prairie, and were led by Aaron Patraw’s 88.

Matt Nafe shot a 90 for the Panthers, and Jon Walstrom shot 94. Spencer Hanna was the team’s fourth scorer with a 96, and Sam Grothem (98) and Cody Root (101 were non-scorers.

The Panthers girls team third and shot 443.
