4 area track and field athletes advance to state

Four area track and field athletes advanced to state Saturday after finishing first in their respective section championship events.
Albert Lea’s Chrissy Monson won the 1,600-meter run at the Section 1AA meet, and New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva’s Carlie Wagner won the high jump at the Section 2A meet.
