Kiester and Bricelyn set to celebrate

Beginning tonight the city of Kiester will begin celebrating Kiester Days.
At 5 p.m. the celebration will begin with the celebration picnic at the Kee Town and Country Centre.
Following the opening festivities will be the Stephanie Erdman show at 7:30 p.m. at the theater.
An array of events are slated for Friday, June 24, beginning at 5 p.m. Kicking off the nights activities is Cow Chip Bingo, followed by a Lions Steak Fry at the American Legion.
After you’re full from eating feel free to participate in the 5k Run/Walk sponsored by Kiester for a cure or dance the night away with “All B.S.” at the street dance.
The rest of the weekend is filled with sports tournaments, such as the softball tournament at 9 a.m. on Saturday. One of the main events on Saturday is the parade beginning at 11 a.m.
New to this years lineup is the Kiester Area Historical Society. The newly formed society is setting up a museum during the celebration. They are offering individual memberships for $10 and family memberships for $15.
The event will wrap up on Sunday, June 26, with a bean bag tournament at Forever Bermas’ beginning at 2 p.m.
Bricelyn Fourth of July Celebration
The city of Bricelyn has its 54th annual Fourth of July Celebration planned for the weekend of July 1-3.
Friday evening’s events will begin with a variety show and will include a pie and ice cream social along with a dance at the Legion Hall.
Saturday’s festivities will include the annual parade, a volleyball tournament, horse show, entertainment and food. A highlight of Saturday will be the 5k Chicken Run.
The entertainment doesn’t end there for this Independence Day festival. Also on Saturday will be a rendezvous, a car show, a petting zoo, a dodgeball tournament, fishing and a fireworks display.
Events will conclude on Sunday with a pancake breakfast to benefit the Bricelyn Fire Department, a community worship service and the medallion hunt.
