Here are highlights in history for June 27, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1984 — A special summer school was being held fur 22 junior high school students in the Albert Lea system. This extra education was intended to help the students cope with high school.
1974 — The Ole Allen Band would be furnishing the music on both Friday and Saturday night at the Golden Bubble Steak House and Ballroom south of Wells.
1954 — A cornerstone ceremony was held for the new Christ Episcopal Church building on West Fountain Street.
