The Albert Lea Knights 11AAA baseball team placed third in the MBT State Tournament in Eastview July 8-10. In pool play, the Knights beat Eagan 11-6, lost to White Bear Lake 8-6 and beat top-seeded Eastview 6-2. In the championship bracket, the Knights beat Chaska 4-2 and St. Louis Park 6-4, but lost to the eventual state champion Minneapolis Millers 7-5. The Knights then posted a 7-5 win over Lakeville North in the third-place game. The Knights competed in the Gopher State Tournament of Champions July 15-17 and finished 2-1 in pool play but did not advance. The team finished the season with a 29-10 record.
