Here are highlights in history for July 19, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1987— The sixth annual Real Runabouts Boat Show was held the previous day at the Albert Lea Municipal Beach.
1977 — High heat and humidity was causing real discomfort for people in the Albert Lea area. Some folks, especially children, were finding relief at the cement pond (municipal pool).
1937 — Albert Lea Ice and Fuel Co. was selling an “air conditioned refrigerator” for $64.50 that would reportedly make ice cubes in five minutes.
