Here are highlights in history for July 22, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:

1980 — Albert Lea’s Normanna Lodge No. 53 of the Sons of Norway was observing its 75th anniversary.

1970 — The Freeborn County Board of Commissioners set up a committee to determine if an alcohol information center could be set up in the county.

1940 — Wilson & Co. announced that its six horse hitch would be in Albert Lea on Aug. 2 to present several shows.
