Here are highlights in history for July 26, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:

1987 — Drive-in and take-out services were available at Classic Cookery, 2006 E. Main St., according to a Tribune ad.

1977 — A Tribune photo featured Arthur Durrant of Morningside Avenue and his 4 pound cucumber.

1967 — Several southside business owners asked the Albert Lea City Council to consider constructing a fire substation in the south part of the city. Their request was based on possible delays which could be caused by trains on the tracks.
